I was called to court to examine the king who had gone blind as a result of a bad illness. After carefully studying his case, I concluded that he had only one remaining hope.
“Somewhere in the Great Sea there exists a Golden-Headed Fish,” I told the king’s son. “If you can manage to catch this creature and bring it to me, I will prepare an ointment which will restore the king’s sight.”
I told the prince that I would wait at court for a hundred days, but if, at the end of that time, the fish remained uncaught, I would have to return to my own master.
