We line all the walls of one of the great rooms in the palace of a prince who has been made to appear as a beast. Needless to say, he rarely enters this room, although he did once, recently, to hang a bracelet on the chandelier.
When Beauty enters, she admires herself on all sides. “Oh, what a charming room!” she says, reflecting her admiration on us.
She notices the bracelet hanging from the chandelier and takes it down. Its charm holds a portrait of someone who gives her great delight. Another secret admirer!
