Black Bear

Oh, how I love those girls! We've spent all winter playing by the hearth. I've let them maul me and pull my fur and beat me with their switches. Still, all good things must come to an end. It's time to get back to work.

The girls want to know what I do. "Well," I tell them, "When the sun thaws the ground in the spring and the dwarves come up, they steal from us."

"What do they take?" the girls ask.

"Treasures, my dears," I say. "Anything and everything valuable. And what they take to their caves is not easily brought back to light."
