In the middle of the night, I had the most dreadful dream! My little daughter turned into a dozen roses. As I held the bouquet in my hand, a huge bird swooped in through the window, snatched it, and carried the flowers away!

I ran to my daughter’s room with my maids, and the cradle was empty! We sought high and low, but we could not find a trace of Rosanella.

I will never be consoled! Rosanella had a mark shaped like a little pink rose on her throat, and she showed signs of being the most intelligent, gifted, beautiful girl in the world.

Have you seen her? There will never be another like her!
