Old Witch in the Tower

Themes: Deception | Secrecy

Of course, I know where the Bird of Truth can be found. It’s locked up in a castle that is guarded by a fierce giant. You want to know the name of that castle? It’s called Come-and-Never-Go. I will only tell you the way to the castle if you promise to bring me water from the fountain of many colors. I use that water to make my enchantments.

Ha! But even if you brought me the water, I would never tell you how to find the castle Come-and-Never-Go. Why? Because that’s where the Bird of Truth is hidden. I hate him. I would kill him if I could, but he’s immortal so I can’t. The best I can do is hide him. The giant guards him well, and the squawking, screeching birds of bad faith ensure that his voice will never be heard.
