There is nothing I love better than my apple trees. When harvest time comes, the apples are red as blood, and so heavy that the branches hang to the ground, near to breaking.
No apple falls until I do the harvesting, and if anyone picks an apple before its time, I will send him a hundred fathoms underground!
King with Apple Trees in The Gnome, Grimms. Painting “Expulsion from the Garden of Eden,” circa 1425 Masaccio.
