Flower Queen’s Daughter

The queen of the Isles, who is the most powerful of all queens, envied my beauty. She could not bear to have me around, and so my mother, queen of the Flowery Isles, shut me inside our castle. She wanted to protect me from the dark magic of the queen of the Isles, and so I stayed inside for six months.

One day, my friends gathered for a picnic in the meadow, and I begged my mother to let me out to join them. She thought the risk to me was over, and so she permitted me to go.

I had no sooner stepped into the field when the earth split open and swallowed me up.
